Course Description: Dana has been teaching SOC 101, Principles of Sociology, online at BCC since 2004. In addition to participating in two LMS changes over the past 13 years, Dana has continually updated, improved, and adapted new technologies and techniques. His use of creatively filmed and titled videos (such as “Panic! At the Group Work”) and engaging discussion board questions (such as “Leggo my ego!”) creates a rich course space filled with interesting and thoughtful activities and assignments

Course Description: Martha has been teaching ENG 102, Writing about Literature, in multiple eLearning modalities – hybrid and fully online – since Fall 2014. Her spring 2017 hybrid course is part of a learning community titled “Stories and Structures of the Whaling City.” In addition to redesigning her course for the learning community model, Martha uses VoiceThread to provide weekly video introductions on each topic and provides many opportunities for individual and group reflection and dialog.
