Presentation 1 Description:
Human Services Field Experiences Seminar (Hybrid)
Scott Nolan
Instructor Scott Nolan’s hybrid SER 292 Field Experience and Seminar II is an outstanding example of how face-to-face meetings combined with the use of the online classroom combine to provide a truly engaging and supportive student experience. His use of Blackboard Collaborate for scheduled and structured online class meetings enables the students to stay connected to each other as they gain experience outside of the classroom in a Human Services internship field placement. An excellent course design combined with instructor presence makes this course truly exceptional!
Presentation 2 Description:
Digital Media in the Classroom (Online)
Jeanne Carey Ingle
K12 teachers identify and acquire strategies to use digital media and mobile devices to increase learning success in their classrooms in any content area. Dr. Ingle infuses digital devices and software into the course experience so that they become a part of her students’ lesson planning and pedagogy. Students introduce themselves to the class using a green screen app Do Ink, communicate in small groups and with Dr. Ingle using the texting app Remind, participate in discussions using Flipgrid, present projects using Screencastomatic, and create a Weebly/Wix website of their course work.
