Sports and Stadium Economics

By using the Sports Industry to introduce students to Economics, the course permits students to use a familiar, high-interest subject – sports – as a way to examine a discipline they may otherwise see as ‘scary.’ Lessons identify specific economic concepts, and are accompanied by instructor-created videos and news articles. There is no formal, pricey text for the course. Students have the opportunity to publish three blog posts on Tully’s Sports Blog, giving them the ability to refer back to an online portfolio of writing for future academic or career purposes.
